Justice LA Now is a coalition of like minded organizations around Los Angeles county calling for a moratorium on jail construction and expansion in order to fully realize the promise of diversion and re-entry through a justice reinvestment strategy for Los Angeles. The coalition is collectively calling on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to redirect $3.5 billion earmarked for construction of new jails around Los Angeles toward preventive expenditures such as construction of youth centers, affordable housing, mental health services, and re-entry services.
